New York City mayoral candidate Shaun Donovan Saturday renewed his call for rival Scott Stringer to drop out of the race over sexual harassment allegations made by a former campaign volunteer.
Calling the claim of unwanted sexual advances by Stringer “abhorrent,” Donovan said he believes accuser Jean Kim and slammed what he called efforts to discredit her for coming forward with the 20-year-old accusations.
“I believe her, and I said that the day that she came forward. And I will say that again here today,” Donovan said at a sparsely attended campaign event at Coop City in the Bronx. “Scott Stringer should resign and step out of this race.”
