SHAUN DONOVAN RELEASES SECOND TELEVISION AD “THE MAN WITH THE PLAN” SHOWCASING HIS PLANS TO TURN NYC AROUND

The 30-second ad features some of NYC Mayoral Candidate Shaun Donovan’s boldest plans to help close the racial wealth gap, create 500,000 jobs by the end of his first term, and provide all New Yorkers with quality health care, regardless of their zip code or immigration status.

NEW YORK, NY — Today, New Yorkers for Donovan released a powerful new ad showcasing just some of New York City Mayoral Candidate Shaun Donovan’s bold and comprehensive plans, such as Equity Bonds, creating a true public option, and creating 500,000 New York City jobs by the end of his first term. The 30-second ad, called “The Man With the Plan”, is hitting airwaves and digital platforms across the five boroughs tomorrow morning and is the second television ad to be released by Donovan’s campaign, building on the campaign’s momentum to reach New York City voters and secure the Democratic nomination.

The Man with the Plan | Shaun for NYC

“New Yorkers from all walks of life are tired of the status quo and hungry for change. Shaun Donovan is the man with the plan, and the only candidate with the bold vision and experience to make this change a reality and reimagine New York City as a city that works for everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected,” said New Yorkers for Donovan Campaign Manager Brendan McPhillips. “From Equity Bonds that combat the racial wealth gap and secure the financial future of all our kids, to creating half a million new jobs by the end of his first term and providing a true public option and affordable health care for the most vulnerable New Yorkers, this new ad shows that Shaun is the man with the plan to turn New York City around.”

“Shaun’s health plan shows he understands and values the difference between public health and public healthcare delivery,” said former NYC Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot. “His plan for 15 minute neighborhoods stands out for prioritizing a holistic approach to strengthening health and promoting communities, which will be critical as the city rebounds from its worst health crisis in a century.”

Donavan was the first candidate to place a television ad in the New York City Mayoral Race last month, which highlighted Donovan’s wealth of experience serving New York City and the entire country as both federal Housing Secretary as well as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama.

“Secretary Donovan helped lead our country out of the 2008 housing crisis, and later, as the director of O.M.B., he steered top policy priorities like health care access, climate change, inequality and public health, including pandemic preparedness and response,” said President Obama’s spokeswoman Katie Hill.
