SILive: Mayoral candidate Shaun Donovan says he is one of few candidates ‘not part of the status quo’

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — After years of government experience at the federal and local level, Shaun Donovan thinks he’s the right person to lead New York City.

The born and raised New Yorker, who grew up on the Upper East Side, told the Advance/ during a March 6 visit to the borough that despite his robust experience he feels he would represent change from the past eight years of Mayor Bill de Blasio.

“I’m one of the very few candidates that really represents change, not part of the status quo right now, that wasn’t part of the de Blasio administration or an elected official, but, at the same time, I bring the deepest experience,” he said.

Donovan, a Democrat, said that if elected he hopes to lead the city and Staten Island into the future.
